Office of Advising
The Office of Advising is primarily responsible for:
- ADA Compliance.
- Selecting all faculty and administrative staff who serve as academic advisors to freshmen and sophomores.
- Recruitment and training of peer counselors who serve as aides to academic advising.
- Administering the major declaration process for sophomores.
- Managing, with the assistance of the Registrar and the Associate Dean, the program of early identification of freshman academic difficulties.
- Conducting individual and group counseling of students on academic probation.
- Co-chairing the College's New Student Orientation program, the Summer Orientation days for new students and their families, the early orientation activities for international students and athletes, and the Fall Orientation program for new students.
- Conducting proficiency and placement testing of new students and coordinating the assessments by language and mathematics faculty.
