Office of Advising

The Office of Advising is primarily responsible for:

• ADA Compliance.
 
• Selecting all faculty and administrative staff who serve as academic advisors.
 
• Recruitment and training of peer counselors who serve as aides to academic advising.
 
• Administering the major declaration process for sophomores.
 
• Managing, with the assistance of the Registrar and the Associate Dean, the program of early identification of students having academic difficulties.
 
• Conducting individual and group counseling of students on academic probation.
 
• Co-chairing the College's New Student Orientation program.
 
• Conducting proficiency and placement testing of new students and coordinating the assessments by language and mathematics faculty.
