Faculty Funding

Databases

Centre College has subscriptions to two grant databases.

1. InfoEd SPIN is an online database of over 40,000 funding opportunities for faculty, undergraduates, and graduate students. SPIN lists opportunities in the humanities, social sciences, and the natural and physical sciences. Searches can be filtered on a variety of criteria, including geographic location, citizenship, types of support given, and types of eligibility. You may also set up a SPIN profile, and the system will send you an email when new opportunities fitting your criteria and eligiblity become available. SPIN may be used by anyone with a Centre email address and is accessible on campus or off campus. If you would like brief training on how to use SPIN, pleae contact Kathryn Bowles.

2. The Foundation Directory Online provides profiles on all the private foundations in the United States. Foundation summaries are searchable by keyword, geographic focus, types of support, etc. Searches can also be made on grant recipients and types of grants made. This database has a restricted site license and you may request a search by contacting Kathryn Bowles.

For assistance at any stage in the grants process, please contact Kathryn M. Bowles, Associate Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations, at kathryn.bowles@centre.edu, phone ext. 5212, or visit her office on the second floor of Old Centre.
