Concerto Competition Auditions

Are you an instrumentalist, pianist or singer? Are you pretty darn good? Then you should think about entering the Music Program’s Concerto Competition! Auditions are scheduled for December 3 in Weisiger Theatre. The winner(s) will perform a concert during spring term with one of the instrumental ensembles. Musicians’ Showcase

The Musicians’ Showcase, scheduled for November 1, is a chance for students enrolled in private lessons to perform as soloists or in small groups. Students should consult their instructor to determine whether it is appropriate for them to perform and what repertoire they should use. Question regarding scheduling and logistics can be directed to Dr. Johann van Niekerk.


Scholarship Requirements

Music scholarship holders must be enrolled in applied lessons and appropriate ensemble each term the award is held. Scholarship students must take MUS 120 or MUS 220 AND MUS 230 or MUS 231 by the end of their junior year and must earn a grade of at least C in each graded music class.
