Senior Giving Campaign
The Senior Giving Campaign is an opportunity for each graduating class to leave their mark on Centre College by supporting the creation of a scholarship that will be awarded to one incoming freshman. Each year, President and Mrs. Roush challenge seniors to step-up and give back by agreeing to match each dollar raised for the class scholarship fund. The 2015 graduating class just completed their senior campaign raising $5,922 that, once matched, will provide an $11,844 scholarship to one member of the 2019 class.
Each fall seniors begin their final year at Centre by gathering at the back of Old Centre where they are presented with a silver talent. President Roush charges each senior to spend the year reflecting on their time at Centre and choosing one person (or set of people in the case of parents) to honor during the Honor Walk ceremony at the end of the year. Seniors then reconvene at Old Centre the night before Commencement and present their talent on the College seal as a token of their thanks and appreciation for the people who had the greatest impact on their Centre Experience.
In the spring of their senior year, each soon-to-be graduate is invited to spend an evening at the Craik House with President and Mrs. Roush. Over tasty desserts, the seniors reflect on their time at Centre and share their perceptions and reflections with the Roushes. The feedback received during these sessions has led to important changes at the College over the years.
