• Hundreds of pounds of powder paint

This month, communities in Rwanda and around the world will commemorate the 20th anniversary of the 1994 genocide. During the genocide, approximately 800,000 Rwandans were killed within a period of 100 days, leaving behind millions of orphans and widows.

This past January, students from Centre College worked with Good News International in Rwanda, a non-profit, local-initiated organization that supports orphans and widows through educational sponsorship, housing, income-generating projects, and counseling services.

Partnering with Good News International, twenty aprils is a student-led benefit concert to celebrate the power and endurance of Rwandans 20 years after the genocide. The goal is to raise no less than $10,000 (from ticket sales and gifts) by April 25 to help support survivors of the genocide.

• Tickets and T-shirts ($10 each, or both as a package for $15)
Available at the Campus Center — Monday & Wednesday (5 p.m.-7 p.m.); Tuesday & Thursday (11 a.m.-1 p.m.)
Tickets will be sold at the gate also.

Housed on the second floor of the Campus Center, the Office of Campus Activities is responsible for coordinating numerous fun and exciting campus events with student organizations and committees. It is also responsible for the daily calendar of events that occurs in the Campus Center.

The Office of Campus Activities works most closely with one of our busiest student groups, the Student Activities Council (SAC), to bring to campus events like comedians, concerts, game shows and movies. SAC coordinates a full calendar of diverse events throughout the academic year, providing all students the chance for fun and entertainment.

Kendrick Durham serves as the Director of Campus Activities. He works closely with the President of the Student Activities Council and other student leaders in our many campus organizations.

For a Centre student’s college experience to reach its fullest potential, involvement in campus life is essential. The Office of Campus Activities helps students achieve this by coordinating numerous programs and events, and by working with various campus organizations to ensure Centre students can discover, develop and fully engage their diverse interests while here.
