Anita, a Danville native, joined the Student Life staff in 2001. She comes to Centre from a local manufacturing facility where she was a Human Resources Assistant for 16 years. One of her major responsibilities in the Student Life Office is the publication of the student handbook which is given to each student. She also publishes the yearly Centre College Directory.
Mary Gulley joined the faculty of Centre College in 2004 as assistant professor of psychology.
Gulley’s areas of specialty include social psychology, interpersonal communication, social and personality development, and life span development. Her research has been published in the Journal of Social Issues, the Journal of Social and Personal Relationships, and the International Society for the Study of Personal Relationships.
Gulley holds B.A. degrees in biological sciences and psychology from Transylvania University, and M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in experimental psychology from the University of Louisville.

Alicia is a 2017 Centre graduate from Louisville with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. Alicia co-advises the executive boards of the Interfraternity Council, Panhellenic Council, Order of Omega, and Gamma Sigma Alpha, works with the Rho Gamma team for sorority recruitment, oversees the Greek house managers, assists in coordinating educational programming for the Greek community, works closely with the director of Greek life, and manages the shuttle service. While a student at Centre, Alicia served as the director of standards and ethics of Alpha Delta Pi sorority, a Rho Gamma, played four years for Centre’s field hockey team, and interned at Sunrise Children’s Services.

The department maintains a staff of two Directors and six full-time Public Safety Officers. The Officers monitor the campus, respond to calls for assistance, and are trained in fire safety. There is at least one officer on duty at all times.
It is the department’s responsibility to make every reasonable effort to provide a safe living and learning environment for our students, faculty and staff. Their efforts are not limited to criminal activities but will respond to any matter involving the personal safety of someone in the Centre College community. In addition, the department ensures that the college is in compliance with safety and security related federal, state, and local laws.
Public Safety personnel do not have arrest powers. Their authority is established and defined by the administrative officers of the College. The department also performs an academic service and support role since observance of policies, rules, and regulations is part of an overall educational experience.
