The Russell Street Field (formerly referred to as the practice football field), is located West of Farris Stadium and adjacent to the tennis courts. The field is an all-bermuda surface and includes lights, which were installed in 2005. This field serves as the primary practice area for the Colonels football team and is not available during the fall season. During the spring this field is used by the track team for field events, but is available for recreation on a limited basis.
Two outdoor basketball courts are located behind the fraternity houses on Walnut Street and are available for recreation until dark.
The College Street Field is located behind the Norton Center and Boles Natatorium and serves as a practice facility for our intercollegiate soccer teams in the fall. Students or staff may request the lights be turned on by contacting Public Safety. This space is also used to play intramural soccer in the fall and softball in the spring. This field is available for recreation anytime after 7 p.m. in the fall and anytime in the spring except when planned intramural events are scheduled.
The tennis courts are used by the mens and womens intercollegiate teams during September and the first part of October during the fall, but are available for recreation after 6 p.m. until 11 p.m. Light buttons on the tennis building access the lights on a two-hour timer. The lights turn off automatically after two hours or at 11 p.m. This facility is available for recreation during the spring when the teams are not using them.
A sand volleyball area is also available on campus near the Hillside Fields.
Danville Country Club. The Colonel Golf teams practice on the magnificent Danville Country Club course. This 18-hole, private course also hosts college tournaments, including the prestigious Centre Invitational. For more information on the course, click here.
Old Bridge Golf Club is owned and operated by Swing Coach Bruce Brown. The Bent Grass greens and Perennial Rye fairways are ideal for the Centre College golf teams for a practice.
Millennium Park is used by the Centre softball team. Maintained by the city, this 135-acre park is complete with running trails for students and varsity runners, and nature enthusiasts.
The softball field at Millennium Park has a batting cage and bullpen along with indoor press box, concession and restroom facilities. This venue, having three available fields makes it one of the best softball tournament sites in Division III.
In addition, the Sigwald Property south of Millennium Park, is used by the Centre men's and women's track team for all throwing events (shot put, discus, hammer) except the javelin.
