Named For: John Sherman Cooper '22, U.S. Senator (1946-49, 1952-55, and 1956-73), U.S.
ambassador to India and Nepal (1955-56) and East Germany (1974-76), member of the Centre board
of trustees (1961-91)

William A. Ganfield, 11th president of Centre College (1915-1921)

E. Golladay LaMotte '29, native of Hopkinsiville, Ky., successful businessman and farmer, chair of the
Centre board of trustees (1977-79)

Robert S. Tyler '44, prominent Tulsa, Okla., businessman, and member of the Centre board of trustees (1983-1994)

Adlai E. Stevenson, Class of 1859, member of the U.S. House of Representatives (1875-77 and 1879-81) and U.S. Vice President (1893-97)

Frederick M. Vinson '09, member of the U.S. House of Representatives (1924-29 and 1931-38) and Chief Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court (1946-53)

Current Use: residence halls. These residence halls housed the campus chapters of national fraternities until Greek Park was constructed in 1994-95.
