Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff,
As we get our first real taste of spring weather, progress continues on campus construction projects. Read on for Pearl Hall specifics, as well as information regarding the Science and Math Center, the Campus Center, and the College’s Norton Center
for the Arts.

Pearl Hall
The following items were completed or
in progress mid-February:
• Piping for geothermal wells in Area #2
and #3
•
Electrical and mechanical rough-in and
stud framing at ground floor
•
Roof truss installation (includes over-framing)
•
Mechanical and electrical rough-in and metal stud framing at 1st floor
•
Installation of exterior masonry, metal
roof deck and interior stairs
• Metal stud framing at 2nd floor
•
Install temporary heat
•
Roof installation
•
Pipe insulation
•
Double-hung-window installation
Pearl Hall Information
Campus Center
• The Campus Center Groundbreaking
is scheduled for April 11 at 12:45 p.m.
in front of Cowan, and the entire Centre
community is invited to attend.
• The Campus Center Committee hosted
an Open Forum for the Centre community
in early February, and the designs were
well received by all who attended.
• The schematic designs were completed on
February 15. Design reviews are currently
underway among engineers, builders and
campus constituents.
• Hastings and Chivetta returned to campus
on February 26 to meet with the Campus
Center committee, food services, ITS and
the Center for Teaching and Learning. The
information technology and audio-visual
needs are becoming more defined for the
entire building project. |

Science and Math
Center
The Science and Math
Center Committee is meeting March 12-13 with Rick Heinz (the lab planner) in order to review more detailed drawings of laboratory spaces.
Norton Center
for the Arts
John Cuny, Barbara Hall,
Milton Reigelman, George
Foreman, and President John
Roush have now all looked
at a similar arts center
designed by the Taliesen
firm that designed the
Norton Center. |
