Pearl Hall
Pearl Fact: work is progressing well and we are optimistic that the facility will be completed in August as planned.

The following items were completed or
in progress at the end of June:

• “Pearl Hall” lettering on the front of the building has been installed.
• Vinyl floor tile is almost completely installed; exterior windows are installed with some cosmetic work to still be completed; exterior doors are being installed; the main stairway is being installed; ceramic floor tile in the lobby is being installed.
• Most of the electrical fixtures are installed on the ground floor and 1st floor; second coat of paint is being applied to the ground floor and 1st floor walls, and the majority of the plumbing fixtures are installed.
• The air conditioning is operating on the ground and 1st floors; the fire sprinkler system has been activated and is now tested and operable. The emergency generator has been tested and training of Centre facilities management staff takes place this week.
• The curb and gutter work, as well as the asphalt parking surfaces, have been completed, not only for the construction site but for surrounding parking areas as well. There is concreted sidewalk and sidewalk lighting inside the courtyard that is complete.
• Grass seed and straw have been laid down as a temporary ground cover to hold the topsoil in place; sod will be planted in the fall (a much better time for planting than the heat of the summer).
• We are close to our completion deadline but there is still a confidence that we will be completed on time for the start of the fall term.

Campus Center
• Cowan is out of service, and construction fencing is up. The College turned the building over to the contractors on June 24. Demolition began on June 26 and is nearing completion.
• On June 19 several College representatives traveled to Ohio University to look at their new student center, in particular at interior design work, floorings, etc. Work continues to progress in this area for the Campus Center.
