Young Hall Addition
The new two-story addition to Young Hall, which was completed in the fall of 2010, added 40,000 square feet of space to this campus facility dedicated to instruction and research in the sciences.

The new addition included:

  • Six new large classrooms
  • Eight new teaching labs
  • New research labs for eight faculty members
  • Several new common, collaborative work areas
  • Significant space for science on display
  • Expansion and renovation of animal facilities

The renovated and expanded Young Hall houses the psychology, psychobiology, biology and biochemistry and molecular biology programs, as well as the synthetic (organic and inorganic) chemists. The physical and analytical chemists and the physics, mathematics and computer science programs remain in Olin Hall.

As identified in Centre's new strategic plan, increasing opportunities for undergraduate research, especially student-faculty collaborative research, is a major impetus for constructing the new science building.
