Welcome to the Centre College Career Services Employer page! Below you will find information regarding recruiting, internships and an update of our activities. On-campus recruiting is available both for post-graduate, full-time positions and for summer opportunities. Fall recruiting will begin mid-September. Note that our CentreTerm in January is a three-week term. Because of the intensity of this term, we will not provide recruiting in January. Recruiting for the spring will begin mid-February. Centre College is once again pleased to be part of “Spotlight Career Fair,” a job and internship fair sponsored by all of the private colleges in Kentucky plus Hanover College in Indiana. The 2013 fair will be held on Thursday, February 28 at the Clarion Hotel in Lexington. To register, click here. Internships. Mindy Wilson is our Assistant Director for Employer Relations and Internships, and as such, she will be seeking out new opportunities for Centre students, particularly for internships but also for full-time, post-graduation positions. Centre College students have a long tradition of participating in meaningful internships across the country. Last year over 70 students participated in an academic internship at Centre College, and the number has been consistently rising over the years. We are constantly looking for new and continuing internship opportunities for Centre students, particularly for the summer and CentreTerm.
What is a CentreTerm internship? Centre's faculty members are always passionate about the subjects they teach, so the College's January term has them especially excited. It's flexible. It's creative. It's intense. And the professors' enthusiasm is contagious during CentreTerm, which offers students the opportunity to enroll in one captivating course, complete an internship, study abroad, or tackle an in-depth research project. CentreTerm is a January term during which students participatin in an internship must work 35-40 hours per week for four weeks. CentreTerm is the most popular term for students to participate in an internship for academic credit, and it is often a perfect time for employers to assign a “special project” to an intern.
