AN UPDATE ON THE COLLEGE CENTRE

Major progress continues as The College Centre moves toward completion. While weather and other uncontrollable variables make exact predictions impossible, the hope is to complete Crounse Hall in February and to finish exterior plantings, sidewalks, and the parking lot in March. Completion of Sutcliffe Hall would follow in April.

Sutcliffe Hall
All door frames are installed, most interior walls are completed, and some are painted.

Windows are being installed, the west face is complete, and the north face is 1/3 complete.

Decorative stone and brick work is 2/3s complete with the east face being the last area to be completed.

Floor and wall tile in bath rooms and locker rooms is being installed; installation of lockers and bathroom fixtures is about four weeks away.

Ceilings and lighting are being installed in the coachs office and classroom areas.

Mechanical systems are ready to be put in full service once the building is completely enclosed.
Recreation gym:

Roof trusses and underside of roof have been painted, exposed duct work is painted, underside of track is painted.

Basketball goals are being installed.

Above-ground work is almost complete, enclosing of service opening will start soon, and the concrete floor has been poured and should be cured for installation of sports flooring in about two weeks.

Walking track is ready for track surface, but above-floor-level drywall, painting, and insulation work is incomplete.

Crounse Hall
Work continues in isolated areas of the building such as the Bijou, Instructional Resources, conversion of a classroom into three study rooms, and the remodeling of the old faculty offices. We are only a few weeks from completion of the interior of Crounse Hall.

Exterior work on the patio, exterior caulking, painting, and some detail work has been delayed due to weather conditions.

Landscaping work and the parking lot construction will start when weather permits.

All other interior spaces are being prepared for acceptance by the architect and for state approval for complete occupancy.

THERE'S ALSO A SECTION OF THE COLLEGE'S WEB SITE DEVOTED TO THE COLLEGE CENTRE. Go to http://www.centre.edu/cc for an overview of the project, current pictures and a photo archive, floor plans, an archive of update messages, and more.

Your patience and cooperation is appreciated as work moves toward completion on this major enhancement of the academic and athletic/recreation facilities of the College.
