An update on The College Centre
What's happened recently?
Crounse: the front of the building has been removed completely, and excavation of the lower level is complete. All the temporary walls have been installed, and all heating pipes have been connected to the temporary heat source. The pouring of footing and walls is in process.
Sutcliffe: the tear-down is almost complete, and removal of debris is getting underway. (Watch out for truck traffic on College and Walnut streets.) All the utilities have been relocated, and lighting circuits for gym lighting have been relocated. The hot water boiler for domestic use (showers, etc. ) has been relocated and is operational, and the new water line is in service. The temporary sidewalk between Old Carnegie and the construction site has been provided with temporary lighting.
What's next?
Ongoing work will continue, and over the next few weeks, subcontractors will begin work on various parts of the project.
Where to find information on The College Centre
Information on the progress of The College Centre project will be provided throughout the school year. Look for student/faculty/staff e-mails, as well as information in Notesworthy and on the College's homepage. There is also a section of the College's Web site devoted to The College Centre. Go to http://www.centre.edu/cc for an overview of the project, current pictures and a photo archive, floor plans, an archive of update messages, and more.
Your patience and cooperation is appreciated as work moves forward on this major enhancement of the academic and athletic/recreation facilities of the College.
