AN UPDATE ON THE COLLEGE CENTRE
Recent Activity/Information
CROUNSE
Steel door frames have arrived ahead of schedule and will be stored until the framing of walls is underway.
The roofing insulation has arrived for Crounse. The roofing people should be starting soon and will be doing demolition work on Sutcliffe at the same time they do the roofing at Crounse. About 1/3 of the metal roofing decking is in place.
Floors are poured and temporary construction lighting is in place. Some electrical and HVAC work has been completed in the new lower level of Crounse.
Air conditioning equipment is being fabricated. At this point, the plan is to air condition Crounse using existing equipment until the end of the spring term. The library will be closed to the public, but will offer limited service through the summer. Much of the book moving and interior remodeling will be taking place during this time.
SUTCLIFFE
Yesterday the contractors began pouring the concrete for part of the floor of the recreation building.
Steel for the framing of the recreation building should be arriving soon.
Much of the rough-in plumbing can now be seen, especially along the College Street side.
Where to find information on The College Centre
Information on the progress of The College Centre project will be provided throughout the school year. Look for student/faculty/staff e-mails, as well as information in Notesworthy and on the College's homepage.
THERE IS ALSO A SECTION OF THE COLLEGE'S WEB SITE DEVOTED TO THE COLLEGE CENTRE. Go to http://www.centre.edu/cc for an overview of the project, current pictures and a photo archive, floor plans, an archive of update messages, and more.
Your patience and cooperation is appreciated as work moves forward on this major enhancement of the academic and athletic/recreation facilities of the College.
