AN UPDATE ON THE COLLEGE CENTRE
The College Centre is rapidly moving toward completion. Crounse Hall is in the "final details" stage, and Sutcliffe Hall isn't far behind. We're beginning to see clearly what a magnificent enhancement to our campus this project has provided.
CROUNSE HALL
Besides some items to be corrected and some work in the lower level, Crounse is complete. Lower level work includes Instructional Resources; the hall outside of the library compact shelving area; existing bathroom repair; and the former Bijou Theater remodeling.
SUTCLIFFE HALL
This work is proceeding well. The mechanical systems are complete but not yet balanced and adjusted.
Lockers are to be delivered next week and installed shortly thereafter. Sinks, toilets, and toilet partitions are in place and will be operational when the water is turned on and the toilet room fixtures are installed.
Floor tile is in all of the bathrooms and locker rooms and is being laid in the corridors.
The flooring on the track and recreational gym is being installed and should be completed in about one more week.
Offices are near completion; some base molding and cleaning still remains to be done. Furniture is being delivered the week of April 11.
Wooden flooring is installed and is near completion. Sanding and finishing still remains to be done. The racquetball courts are almost complete.
Ceiling tiles are being installed throughout the facility, and drywall is being painted throughout the building.
Window installation is almost complete and exterior doors are near the point of being installed.
Exterior work: Sidewalks are being defined, the new Crounse/Sutcliffe connecting arch is near completion, and layout work for the parking lot has started.
Landscape work is delayed due to wet top soil; when the top soil is dry enough to excavate, it will be delivered and the landscape work started.
THERE'S ALSO A SECTION OF THE COLLEGE'S WEB SITE DEVOTED TO THE COLLEGE CENTRE. Go to http://www.centre.edu/cc for an overview of the project, current pictures and a photo archive, floor plans, an archive of update messages, and more.
Your patience and cooperation is appreciated as work moves toward completion on this major enhancement of the academic and athletic/recreation facilities of the College.
