The Centre men will be looking for their fourth straight SAA title while the women’s team is looking for its fifth straight conference title.
Centre field hockey will be looking to make its third consecutive NCAA Tournament in 2015 after consecutive trips to the NCAA Sweet Sixteen the last two seasons. The Colonels will open up with a neutral site game against St. Mary’s (Md.) at Mary Washington, then play six straight road games until the home opener against SAA rival Sewanee on Oct. 3.
Coming off of an historic 2014 campaign that featured an outright SAA championship, a trip to the NCAA Playoffs and the program’s first undefeated regular season since 1955, the Centre football team will open their 2015 season at Hanover on Sept. 5. The home opener will be an evening kickoff against Defiance on Sept. 12.
The Centre men’s golf team will be playing in five tournaments this fall. The traditional season opener will be the Jim English Centre Invite on Sept. 3. The Colonels will also be playing in the extremely challenging Golfweek Fall Preview in Destin, Fla., as well as the SAA Fall Preview in Murfreesboro, Tenn., a tournament won by Centre in 2014.
After a 2014 season that saw the team ranked in or near the top 25 all year, the Centre women’s golf team will open play at the Jim English Centre Invite on Sept. 3. In addition to the Golfweek Fall Preview, the premier tournament of the fall season, the Colonels will be returning to the Birmingham Southern Shootout, a tournament that has served the team well in years past.
The Centre men’s soccer team will open up its season at Rose-Hulman on Sept. 1. The team will then play a pair of games in a tournament at Maryville (Tenn.) before hosting the 26th Annual Bob Allen Nissan Classic on Sept. 11-12. The Colonels will be playing Emory and Ohio Wesleyan teams in the Bob Allen tournament for their first two home games of the season.
The Centre women’s soccer team, fresh off of the deepest postseason run in program history that saw the Colonels advance to the NCAA Regional Final, will be playing the first contest of the 2015 Centre athletic year when they take on Rose-Hulman on Sept. 1. The home opener will take place three days later when the Colonels take on Transylvania University on Sept. 4.
