Minh Duc NguyenMinh Duc Nguyen, a rising senior at Centre College, is exploring a new career field as a web development intern for Kindful.

The company provides a web-based application to cultivate relationships between non-profit organizations and their donors.

As part of his internship, Nguyen helps find and report bugs in the company’s application, takes part in customer service documentation and shadows the sales team.

While Nguyen has some experience with computers as a student worker at Information Technology Services (ITS) on campus, he is excited about the new experiences.

“I really love that I get to learn to develop web-based application, which is an area that I haven’t had the chance to approach yet,” he said.

As a Centre student, Nguyen feels that the rigorous courses and close personal relationships gave him the time management and interpersonal skills he needed to complete this internship.

“Centre prepared me academically,” he said. “I have been taught the skills needed to familiarize myself with a new field in computer science. I also learned how to interact with people in a professional environment, how to manage my time and balance my workload.”

Nguyen hopes to make something of the skills he’s learning, as he is planning to make his own web-based application as the result of this internship.

“I really like the web developing area. Perhaps I will try to find a job as a web developer after graduation,” Nguyen concluded.
