Centre recently received a 2011 Vision Award from Bluegrass Tomorrow. The College was selected for the award for its role as an institution of innovation and impact in the region.
Bluegrass Tomorrow, a non-profit organization, looks to enhance quality of life in the eighteen counties making up the 6th Congressional District by developing cooperative partnerships among public, private and corporate citizens and institutions. The organization is dedicated to fostering a unified vision of improvement in many areas, including job growth and land use, in central Kentucky.
Centre was the only private liberal arts institution to be recognized by the organization at the ceremony, which took place on Oct. 28 and was just one event of an entire day celebrating young professionals and promoting the talent and diversity of the region.
The award was accepted on behalf of the College by Vice President for College Relations Richard Trollinger, Director of Communications Michael Strysick and Media Relations Coordinator Laura Coleman Pritchard ’05.
Criteria for Centre to be chosen as a recipient of the Vision Award include the quality of education it provides the Commonwealth of Kentucky, the numerous cultural enrichment opportunities it provides its students and the surrounding community, its dedication to service and the renown it has brought the Bluegrass as one of the top colleges in the nation.
