Daniel Graham ’16 wins second place in National Institute of Standards and Technology Data Reference Challenge

labDaniel Graham ’16, alongside a partner from Texas A&M University, recently won second place in the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Data Reference Challenge for an app they developed called Labpal.

Available to download over Android, the app is to designed to provide easily accessible resources for scientists and students in a laboratory setting, bringing the Internet into the lab in a meaningful way for scientists.

Graham worked on the project as an independent study over the course of a semester, while also co-developing with his partner through weekly development meetings over Skype and phone.

Graham is a senior chemistry and computer science double major. He will be pursing a Ph.D. in computational chemistry at University of Minnesota next fall.
