Early application deadlines looming for Centre Class of 2017
Early deadlines are fast approaching for high school students applying to Centre College for entry with the Class of 2017.
Early Action applications must be submitted by Dec. 1, while those applying Early Decision have the option to submit their applications by either Dec. 1 or Jan. 15. Regular decision applications are also due on Jan. 15.
Students who apply Early Action to Centre will be notified of admission decisions by Jan. 18. Early Action applications are non-binding to Centre, unlike Early Decision.
The Early Decision application is an option for students who are committed to Centre as their first choice of colleges. There are two options for applying Early Decision, the “ED 1” application is due on Dec. 1, while the “ED 2” application is due on Jan. 15. No matter which Early Decision deadline students choose, students applying Early Decision pledge to enroll at Centre upon admission to the College, as far as financial aid awards make attendance possible.
Students applying “ED 1” will receive admission decisions and scholarship offers by Jan. 1, and information about financial aid options will be sent by late January. “ED 2” applicants will receive admission decisions and scholarship offers by Feb. 8, and information about financial aid options will be sent by late February.
Regular Decision applicants will be notified of admission decisions by mid-March, and will receive scholarship and financial aid information by late March.
Students applying to Centre use the Common Application, which can be found online here. The application fee is waived for those who apply online. The Common Application is also supplied to students through their high school guidance counselors.
