Poetry and Migration: A reading and conversation with Javier Zamora
The poet Javier Zamora, a 2016-2018 Wallace Stegner Fellow at Stanford University, will read from his recent poetry collection “Unaccompanied” and discuss his work. Born in El Salvador, Zamora immigrated to the United States when he was nine. His poetry deals with the personal and political stories of race, migration, war, and the links between Central America and the United States. He earned an M.F.A. from New York University and his work has been honored and supported by institutions such as the National Endowment from the Arts and the Poetry Foundation.
