Blakely Brooks joined the Centre faculty in 2012 as visiting assistant professor of anthropology.
He is a medical anthropologist. His research interests include cultural syndromes, cultural domain analysis, social stress, Andean social roles and health. He has used the research methods of cultural domain analysis to study susto, cultural consonance, and health among populations in Latin America.
Brooks received a B.A. in anthropology from Centre College, and an M.A. and Ph.D. in anthropology from the University of Alabama.
