Imagine that there is a Centre dictionary. Then look under “loyalty.” The definition you would find would be “Golladay LaMotte.”
Centre has been blessed for many generations with dedicated alumni whose enthusiasm and love for their College are legendary. The College has also enjoyed exceptional guidance and support from its trustees.
Golladay “Squire” LaMotte embodies the best of both groups. He is a Life Trustee, has served as board chair, has been named a Distinguished Alumnus, and has received the Isaac Shelby Medallion for service to the College. For more than 60 years his leadership and generosity have been unmatched, yet he has gone about all this in a quiet, unassuming way. It can truly be said that Centre would not be what it is without Golladay LaMotte.
For a lifetime of service and support for the College he loves, Centre is pleased to honor E. Golladay LaMotte as the 1991 Centre Associate of the Year.
