1. What is the Centre Fund?
The Centre Fund is the College's highest priority - Centre's Annual Fund. The Centre Fund is unrestricted and provides direct and immediate support to the programs most in need.
2. Why don’t all gifts count toward the Centre Fund?
The Centre Fund is an unrestricted account, which supports the annual operating budget of the College. Any gift designated for a particular purpose, such as a named scholarship account, does not count toward the Centre Fund.
3. What are the goals for the Centre Fund for fiscal year 2012-2013?
This year's goals for the Centre Fund are to achieve 60% alumni participation and to raise more than $1.8 million.
4. It seems like I get asked for a gift more than once a year. Is that true?
Once the College receives a gift from you, you will no longer be contacted for a gift for the remainder of that fiscal year, with the exception of special projects. Centre's current fiscal year runs from July 1, 2011 to June 30, 2012.
5. If my spouse is also an alumnus/a of Centre, will we both get credit for making one gift?
Yes. Centre alumni spouses each receive credit for the full amount of the joint gift.
6. What is the Bill Breeze Society and how can I become a member?
The Bill Breeze Society is Centre's newest donor recognition society and recognizes consistency of giving rather than the amount of the gift. Membership in the Bill Breeze Society is granted to alumni, parents, and friends who have made at least two consecutive gifts to the College, including the current fiscal year. All members will receive special recognition in the annual Donor Report, signifying their number of consecutive years of giving.
7. Can I make a gift anonymously?
Yes. Simply let us know at the time the gift is made if you would like to remain anonymous.
8. Can I make a gift in honor or memory of someone?
Yes. Please indicate your desire to make your gift in honor or memory of an individual at the time you make your gift. Also, please provide us with contact information if you would like the College to notify the honoree or a family member of your gift.
9. Can I make recurring credit card gifts?
Yes. Making your gift to Centre through an Electronic Funds Transfer spreads the cost of your support over the course of a year. CentreEFT is safe, secure, and you'll know when your account will be debited. You can choose to use your credit card or checking or savings account. Withdrawals are made on or around the 4th of each month and can be stopped at any time. You can set up recurring payments through our online giving form or by completing this form and mailing it to:

10. How do I make a gift of stock?
For stock held by a broker

Please ask your broker to attach your name to the transfer so we can track it back to you when it comes to our account. Please also let us know if your broker is with Hilliard-Lyons. We will need to give our broker a special notice.
For stock certificates held by you
Send unsigned certificates by certified mail. Sign but do not complete a stock power form for each security, have your signature guaranteed with the Medallion guarantee stamp, and send separate from the certificates to:

11. How do I make a pledge?
12. How can I find out if my company will match my gift?
Your Human Resources Department should be able to provide the proper information about your company's matching gifts policy.
13. How do I get my company to match my gift?
Companies have varying policies and procedures regarding their matching gifts programs. Your Human Resources Department can provide you with the appropriate guidelines and paperwork necessary to complete your match.

15. How quickly will my gift be processed?
We will do our very best to process your gift within 24 hours of its receipt.
16. Will I receive a receipt?
Yes. A thank you letter, which serves as your tax receipt, will be mailed as soon as possible after receipt of your gift.
17. What if I need a duplicate receipt?
Simply email Vickie Glidewell or call 877-678-9822 and a duplicate receipt will be mailed, emailed, or faxed to you.
18. What calendar does Centre use to recognize gifts?
Centre operates on a fiscal year rather than a calendar year. Each fiscal year runs from July 1 - June 30.
19. How will my gift be recognized?
Unless you specify that your gift remain anonymous, your name will appear in the appropriate donor categories in our annual Donor Report that is mailed each October. Members of our gift clubs will appear in the online version of the Donor Report, which is updated quarterly.
20. What is the difference between an annual gift and an endowment gift? How does Centre’s endowment work?
An annual gift is to be used in its entirety during a specific time frame. An endowment gift is placed in an account that exists in perpetuity and ensures long-term growth. Each year, a certain percentage of the endowment - approximately 5 percent of the total value of the endowment fund at the beginning of the fiscal year - can be used for various scholarships, programs, and projects. The payout, or draw down, from the endowment will be used according to the purposes agreed upon between the donor and the College at the time the gift was made.
21. What are the advantages of giving online?
Online credit card gifts are a safe, easy, and quick way to support Centre. Giving online allows Centre to put your money to work faster and cuts down on time-intensive administrative work. It also saves on postage costs and is good for the environment.
22. I don’t see the designation of my choice in the options on the online form. How can I indicate where my gift should go?
If you do not see your designation listed, please check the "Other" option and type your designation in the box provided.
23. This is my reunion year. Where should I direct my reunion gift?
If you choose, you can direct your gift to your class specific reunion fund. Simply choose "Other" on the online form and indicate "Class of XXXX Reunion Fund" in the box provided.
