Anita M. Britton
Anita graduated from Centre in 1976 with a degree in psychology and went on to earn a Juris Doctor from the University of Kentucky in 1982. Consistently named one of the top female lawyers in Kentucky, Anita was honored in 2005 with the Winners Circle Award from the National Association of Women Business Owners for her role as partner in one of Kentucky’s largest law firms. She has served as president of the alumni association, was honored as Centre Associate of the Year for 2007, was named a Distinguished Alumna in 2008, and she serves on the Board of Trustees. In addition, Anita has presented several campus talks to students, has hosted numerous internships for students interested in the field of law, served on her reunion committee, and assisted with the admission match program. She and her husband, Stuart Bennett, established the Doc and Juanita Britton Scholarship to help fund learning opportunities for full-time Centre students who might not otherwise be able to take advantage of such opportunities because of financial need.
