Theodore Flint Gray, Jr.
Flint graduated from Centre in 1960 with a degree in chemistry and earned his PhD in chemistry from the University of Florida in 1964. He put his degrees to good use by serving as the Director of Emerging Technology for the Eastman Kodak Company. Flint has served Centre as a director on the Alumni Board, a member of the Parents Committee, a reunion committee member, and an admission match volunteer.
The former Dottye Benkert graduated from Centre in 1960 with a degree in home economics. Dottye has served Centre as a member of the Parents Committee, a class agent, a member of her reunion committee, an admission match volunteer, and as a director on the Alumni Board.
In 2000, Flint and Dottye established the Gray-Benkert Family Scholarship, along with their children Brett Gray ’88 and Holly Gray Schnizer ’91, to provide financial assistance to needy and worthy students who wish to attend Centre College. In addition to this support, they became Senior Science Fellows in 2004.
