Joseph H. Patterson

Joe graduated from Centre in 1961 with a degree in chemistry and went on to earn his PhD in organic chemistry from the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill. In 2001, Joe retired as the Deputy Chairman for Hoechst Celanese Corporation. Joe has served Centre by participating on his reunion committee, serving as a director for the alumni association, and volunteering for the admission match program. His background in the sciences led him to become a Centre Senior Science Fellow. Joe is a member of the Centre Board of Trustees. His father, James Patterson, is a member of the Centre Class of 1926. Joe and his wife, Elizabeth, live in Charlotte, North Carolina and Scottsdale, Arizona.
