Centre College Intro Brochure - page 7

As one of America’s leading liberal arts colleges, our core
is academic excellence. Faculty take a keen interest in the
academic and personal growth of their students. Centre
professors will support you scholastically and socially, bring
you into their research, and take pride in your progress.
Centre students are bright and highly motivated. About half
were in the top 10 percent of their high school class. The
middle 50-percent range for ACT composite is 26 to 31; for
SAT (critical reading and math only), it is 1140 to 1390.
A highlight of the year is the annual RICE symposium (Re-
search, Internships, and Creative Endeavors), an all-campus
event held each spring. It’s a great opportunity for students to
showcase their efforts in a professional setting to interested
audiences. Students from all disciplines and all classes pres-
ent work developed for courses, faculty-student research
collaborations, internships, or off-campus study programs,
including such projects as theater and musical presentations,
service learning experiences, and research papers and
posters. Last spring 142 students presented.
