The Political Economy Program

Although no major is offered in this program, students may receive a minor degree in political economy.

The political economy program has four main goals:

     1) to provide an understanding of various ideologies and methodologies, and how they are embodied in political and economic institutions

     2) to provide insight into the processes and accompanying institutions in which the political economy is organized both domestically and globally

     3) to develop a set of conceptual tools for analyzing political and economic processes and institutions

     4) to build a foundation for reaching informed judgements on issues of public policy
