About me

Home life: I live with my Dad (Joe), my Mom (Julie), my older brother (John), and my younger sister (Kathryn). Both of my parents are lawyers, my brother is a rising senior at Centre, and my sister is going to be a freshman in high school. We have a dog Daisy and I graduated from duPont Manual High School.

Intended major and minor: International relations major with a French minor. But that could definitely change over the next couple years.

Extracurricular activities & interests: Concerts, volunteering, travelling, politics, boating, tubing, skiing, wakeboarding, and...sleeping.

Favorite vegetable: Green beans, but they have to be cooked with seasonings and bacon in order to be really good.

Strangest or most unusual thing that has ever happened to me: On spring break this past year, my friends and I went back to the condo because it was beginning to storm. As we were riding the elevator up to our room on the 21st floor, the electricity went out in the entire building and the elevator dropped about 3 or 4 stories. Luckily, the power was only off for a few seconds. The elevator took us back down to the first floor and we had to take the stairs all the way up to the 21st floor.

Most prized possession: The memories of my family and friends.

3 words that describe me:
Friendly, giving, passionate.

Person (alive or deceased) that I’d like to have dinner with: John F. Kennedy. I'm really into politics and what he did for this country was amazing. His passion for community service is something that I admire and I'd like to hear what he'd say about himself and about the world today.

My greatest fear: Drifting away from or losing close friends.

People may be surprised to know that: I'm a very big advocate of community service and giving back.

Favorite quote: "Only those who dare to fail greatly can ever achieve greatly."—Robert Kennedy

Why I chose Centre College: I thought I'd get a lot out of it—a solid education, life-long friends, great study-abroad opportunities, personal attention, and many more things that would help me grow as a person and succeed in life after college. Centre was originally my last choice but I applied "just in case." As I continued the application process, Centre kept impressing me with what they had to offer and how easy it was to gather information. And a lot of current students and alum told me how awesome it was. So, I felt like Centre would give me the college experience I wanted and needed. Like the T-shirt says, I decided "It fits."
