600 W. Walnut Street

I’m still having a hard time believing that I’m in college, finally free and independent! These past few weeks really have been a big change, full of the glorious high points and the much-expected low points. But however high or low, I can actually say that I'm enjoying everything that's happening right now, from the weekend parties to the hours of work that comes with my classes (okay that last part may be a lie, but you get it, I’m having fun).

I have really gotten used to Centre though, not that it’s hard to do or anything. I guess you could say that I've been baptized by all of the things that come with being a freshman: going from “my room” to a dorm room, getting lost on the smallest campus ever, and getting so stressed out that nothing can help except a quick midnight run to Huddle House. But I’ve just decided that is all part of what makes the experience so meaningful and memorable.

I can honestly say that this place is beginning to feel a little bit like home, with a big thanks to the people who run it. The professors are great, President Roush is like everyone’s grandpa, and even the maintenance people smile and say good morning when they're doing the brave job of cleaning our bathrooms, which is another entry in itself.

In short, 600 W. Walnut Street is going to be in my future for a long time, and I can’t wait to see what else it has to offer.
