Like I thought I would
Well, wow. It’s been like 5 weeks now—third of the way through the term. And boy, it’s gone by fast. In
these first 5 weeks, I’ve met so many new people, classes have started, and cross-country is in full-swing. Everyone on my
hall is really cool and friendly, especially my RAs and
roommate.
I like all my classes, for the most part, and my professors actually know what
they’re doing. The cross-country team is a lot of fun too. There are
about 30 of us total, boys and girls, and we all get along and have a lot of
fun. From just about 4:15 to 8:00 p.m., that’s where I am—at practice. After running, lifting afterwards, and eating dinner, I’m done
at about 8:15. If it weren’t for the coaches and the kids on the team, I
know I wouldn’t be as excited about school.
This past week was a lot of work and stress, actually. I had a few tests
and some papers due, all at the end of the week. The nice thing about
college, though, is the amount of time I have to deal with all this work. My earliest class is at 11:30 a.m., on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. And even
better, on Thursdays the earliest class I have is at 2:20 p.m.—so
sweet.
So far, I’m adjusting like I thought I would. Things are definitely easier
now than they were the first few weeks. But now that I’ve met many more people
and have gotten into classes and a routine, I have to say, college is treating
me well, and I’m having fun.
