A much lighter note
So we meet again, this time on a much lighter
note. Life’s pretty good right now—midterms a thing of the past,
Thanksgiving right around the corner, classes are rolling to an end. With
all these things, though, comes more to think about. New classes,
airplanes, and more busses are up and coming.
Registration for CentreTerm and spring term is underway now. CentreTerm
classes have always had a reputation for being awesome. I know that this
winter, classes offered to freshmen are particularly awesome.
Classes range from "studying the effects of the automobile on our lives"
to "looking at the importance of cafes and caffeine on societies around
the world." (This latter class includes going around to different cafes in
town to sit and talk.) I’m thinking about taking a class taught by President
Roush on leadership, and another where I’d get to travel to Washington, D.C.
for 3 nights. For the spring, which will be here before I know it, I’m
looking into more economics classes and another Spanish class—my two
favorite classes at this point.
In about 2 weeks from now, I’ll be on a plane back home to Ithaca—actually
I can’t wait. It’ll be my first time home since coming to school.
Thanksgiving might be my favorite holiday and seeing my entire family and
friends will be great. We eat at like 3:00 in the afternoon on
Thanksgiving day, and spend the rest of the day watching football and doing
what I like to do most: nothing. Sleeping in my own bed, showering without
having to wear sandals, and moving around in my house instead of a small room—how
nice!
At the end of this week I head to Greensboro, North Carolina with the cross-country team
for Regionals. Depending on how we do, we’ll
advance to Nationals, in Ohio. I’m determined to run at Nationals,
especially this year as the only freshman running on the advancing team.
That's all for now.
