Still running

Happy New Year—it’s been a while! Last time I wrote I was in game mode—finals and stress everywhere. Now? Things are much different. I’m in the middle of CentreTerm here at school where I’m taking one class for three hours a day on something I find very interesting. It’s a class called Political Islam taught by a professor from Turkey. We discuss what Islam means today and how it’s affecting the world.

My class begins at 9:00 a.m. Monday thru Friday, and is over by noon. In the afternoons I can either sleep, do work, eat, or relax—or all of the above—for about four hours until practice, which is still going on these days. After a run—I’m training for track and field now—I take my time eating dinner and then get into my work for the night. If that doesn’t take me to the end of the night, hanging around the dorm will. There’s always a movie going or an Xbox playing.  Overall, for me, CentreTerm is awesome —I get to study something that really interests me, and the stress that comes with it is very low.

Just before CentreTerm I had my Christmas break which, to be honest, was too short. I spend my days seeing friends, being with my family, and doing nothing. As you may know, some big snow came our way up in New York—we got about a foot total, which was great. If only it would snow that much here.

Before I go, let me leave you with a poem to brighten your day:

CentreTerm is what I’m doing,
It makes me happy—no room for booing.
Having fun and running still,
It’s snow I want—that’d be a thrill.
Life is good here I must say,
To you who’s reading this, have an awesome day.

How cool was that? If you write me I’ll send you an autograph.
