I stepped into the Centre admissions office for the first time during the summer of my junior year and was greeted with, “Adam! Goodness, you look just like your cousin David…” From the beginning, Centre was eerily familiar.

A little bit about me…I’m the fourth “Longenecker” to attend Centre College, and the youngest of four children. My father’s an orthopedic surgeon down here in Jax, Fla., and my mother’s the most patient and generous person I know. It was through her that my siblings and I picked up the violin at a young age and kept with it. I’ve played football for a long as I can remember, except I won’t be playing this year; injuries have a way of doing that to you.

When I’m home I try to hang out with my buddies as much as possible. I’m a social person. It’s summer and I live on the St. Johns River, so tubing and wakeboarding is always a fun, spontaneous thing to do. If not that, then it’s some crazy double/triple/herd date or a “friendly” poker game.

When I’m not with my friends, I’m either with my Dad up in South Carolina fixing up the lease for a good year of deer hunting, skeet shooting with my brother, going to the beach with my sisters talking about life, the universe, and everything, or running my two faithful bird-dogs in the backyard.

Hi, my name is Adam, and I’m a Longenecker.
