Thanksgiving and finals

Thanksgiving was awesome as usual this year. My cousin Lydie, who is like my sister (because of the only child thing), came up to South Carolina from Florida with her dad, so it was just those two, me and my family.

I contributed with a recipe that my friend's mom taught me. It's the only thing that I have ever been successful in making. It's a mixture of baked apples and sweet potatoes, cooked together and then flavored with butter and cinnamon and brown sugar...so good.

After our Thanksgiving "lunch" with the family, Lydie and I went to our friend Chris's house for Thanksgiving "dinner." His mom is one of the best cooks I have ever met in my life. She makes this macaroni with spaghetti noodles instead of those regular ones. Everything is from scratch. I ate so much I was actually to the point of physical pain.

Getting to see my friends was one of the best parts of the break. There was a big party, and we all got to see all of our friends who've gone on to college as well as our friends still in high school. My high school is so small and everyone is so close, that it's weird not seeing everyone all the time.

Finals week begins today, and I'm scared. Everyone says it's an impossible week, and I believe it. I have a paper due and two tests this week, and I still have to find time to study for finals. AHH! The library has extended hours for this week and next week and I'm definitely going to be spending a lot of my time in there.

One thing that keeps everyone going is the fact that school will be out again in a week and a half! Going home for a month will be tight, but I know I'm going to miss Centre A LOT.
