The rush of rush
Well, looking back on CentreTerm I must say it was pretty sweet. I had a hard class so I wasn't able to relax and have fun as much as I expected, but it was still an amazing time...and I'm not so sure that I'm ready to get back to work after my CentreTerm break! Over the break my mom and I went shopping for pretty dresses to wear for Rush, which started the first day back.
Now, while CentreTerm was great, Rush is fantastic! It's hectic but it's so worth the time you spend (at least, it was to me). It's a four day long process that takes you to all four sorority houses, allows you a great way to meet new girls, and educates you for the decision that you will have to make when you sign your bid card. The fact that I was so enthusiastic about this whole thing surprised me and mostly, surprised my friends from home. They said they never pictured me joining a sorority, and frankly, neither did I. When I came to Centre I really didn't think that there was much of a chance of me becoming affiliated. But, all the girls from all four sororities all have so much to offer and are such sweet people, how could I resist!?
They say that bid day is one that you'll remember for the rest of your life, and they're so right. It's such a rush and when you get to your house with your new pledge class and your new sisters. It feels like home! I can honestly say that I'm obsessed with my Tri Delta pledge class and my affiliated sisters.
But enough about that. Classes are in their second week and are getting ready to be intense. As usual, I love my teachers. There's never a dull moment in my Natural Science class, and my Humanities professor is constantly prodding and questioning the delinquent computer that he pleaded (unsuccessfully) with the registrar to avoid. Also, my Spanish professor brings cookies, and in case it wasn't clear before, food is the way to my heart. So, I have 99 pages of Beowulf to read once I'm finished with this entry, but it's worth it because I know that this place is teaching me amazing things. My three hour lab tomorrow, however, I'm not so sure about.
