A scared little freshman

With only a week left of school, it's weird to write this entry and look back on everything. This year has flown by but last August seems like FOREVER ago. I was a scared little freshman who knew NO ONE and who, for the first few days, just wanted to go back to high school where I was comfortable. That all changed pretty quickly when I started to get out and meet people, discovering that everyone in the freshman class was a little uncomfortable too and the rest of the student body was excited to get to know the new additions to the campus.

This year I've grown up so much. I've learned how to balance tons of responsibilities with my social life, and through academics and making new friends I've discovered things about myself. I'm so glad that I took a chance and went to school somewhere totally unfamiliar. I could have stayed in South Carolina and gone to a college where I knew a lot of people, but coming here has given me a chance to figure out that I can be independent, and to learn how to be just as comfortable around new people. I've made friends here that I know I'll talk to for the rest of my life.

Even though I'm so excited to have all of this work off my mind for the summer, I'll be very sad not to be seeing all of these amazing people every day. I'm SO excited for next year, and I know that it will be even better than the first!
