What you are here for

It's been one month and already I'm beginning to feel the full weight of my classes. I came into this semester thinking that I could relax for a bit and readjust. I was quickly corrected. After doing poorly on two assignments in two different classes, I decided it was time to buckle down. I'm back on track now, but was headed down the wrong way before. At Centre, you're here to learn. There's plenty of time for fun, but you have to remember what you are here for.

The whole academic side of Centre can be pretty stressful. You're worried about things that aren't due for a while as well as things that are due tomorrow. You try to schedule and plan accordingly, but things always come up. What you have to do is find a balance.

No one can spend all their time studying. It'll drive you crazy eventually. You have to make time to experience college. The most important thing you can do at Centre is live. Have fun, do your work, and enjoy it all. I feel very blessed to attend one of the best schools in the nation and treat everyday like it's an honor.

Academic success is absolutely the main focus at Centre, but try to have fun...even if you do poorly on some assignments, and realize that things will work out as long as you keep on top of it!
