Time to chill

Spring break brought with it a much needed time to chill. Having completed almost a full year at Centre, I really needed time away from college. I ended up going to Sanibel Island in Florida with some of my friends and I had an excellent time. The 15-hour drive was definitely something I thought was going to be tough to get through, but it turned out great.

When we got there we all had a great time on the beach and were basically the only college kids on the island. It was fantastic. I knew all of the people going but made better friends with some of the guys there and can honestly say there is no other way I would have preferred to spend my break. It served its purpose.

I'm back, refreshed, and better than ever. This is good because I need to relish these last few weeks because my first year at Centre is quickly coming to an end. I can't even believe it. I've experienced so many things already and can't even imagine what the next three years will bring for me.

I'm going to be able to participate in a research opportunity with Dr. Barton. After my research, I'll be able to work in a vet clinic in Lexington with Dr. Lauren Smith because of the opportunities I've had with her and a fellow Centre student turned veterinarian Dr. Charles Keiser at the Danville practice. Last but not least, I will be in FRANCE next year for my study-abroad. Go Colonels.

Things are coming to a close
I feel like I'm at home
A place to get away
The notion of finals is...
Headed to Puerto Rico
Such cruel lives we lead
What you are here for
Tiime to chill
More than I could ever ask
Wanting to be a vet
