Although I’ve tried to get people to call me Jeffrey, Jeff has just stuck. I call Waco, Texas, my home, where I live with my brother, who’s a junior in high school, and my two parents. My dad is an insurance agent and my mom is a psychotherapist, which is a cross between a psychologist and a therapist.

Although I’m a proud Texan, the weather was too hot for me, so I moved more north to Centre College for cool weather; I haven’t been disappointed. But really, the biggest reason I choose Centre was for the professors and rigorous academics that they present.

I can be goofy, but this behavior is just me trying to break free of my compulsiveness by being spontaneous and inadvertently clumsy. The most spontaneous thing I’ve ever done (get my eyebrow pierced) was planned thoroughly my senior year. By the way, it stops there; I will not pierce or tattoo any part of my body again.

I want to be a doctor someday, but don’t ask what kind; I just got into college and I have four to seven years before I have to think about that. I work hard and try my best to make good decisions, but I’m ready to learn from my mistakes—what better place to do it than at Centre!
