Immanuel Kant and mud

I can't believe it's a whole new year! The first semester went by so quickly.

Christmas break was really nice. I got to stay home with my family and have a relaxing, travel-free holiday. I know my family missed me; I could tell by the fact that my mom now does my laundry and we ate whatever food I wanted. I thought that after seeing my family, being home, and doing nothing I wouldn't be ready to go back to Centre where much studying would be required.

However, at the end of the break, I was ready to get back and see all of my collegiate friends. Fortunately, I was able to get back and see my friends without having to buckle down and study right off the bat. This is because of one of the coolest parts of Centre is the "CentreTerm," as we affectionately call it.

CentreTerm is a three-week period where you attend class every day for three hours. Usually the classes are fun while still being academic. I'm taking the "Art of Walking" with Professor Keffer. This class incorporates fun with the walking and is still academic with the "art" and our study of Immanuel Kant's Critique of Judgment.

As a part of the class we take long walks everyday that can be as local as walking around town or as far away as Raven Run near Lexington. Regardless of where we are, two things have become fairly apparent to me. The places we go have natural beauty and mud. Yes, a good bit of mud, which took me about an hour to get it out of my shoes. I can't wait to see where we hike next!
