Like a steak dinner

Well, regular classes are back, and I think it's rather masochistic of me to say that I'm glad to be taking four classes instead of one. It's just easier for me to keep a regular schedule. Also it's kind of like a steak dinner...the mashed potatoes are good, but I need more than 'taters. I need a salad, corn on the cob, and certainly the steak.

This semester the steak of my dinner is organic chemistry...you know, because it's thick and tough to chew on then eventually your jaw gets tired, and you just don't want anymore chemistry.

Another problem with organic is that I thought I would be clever and buy my textbook online for a reduced price. I did end up getting the reduced price, but I haven't gotten my book yet. I guess that's the risk you take buying books from other people.

Anyway, the week after CentreTerm we got a week off before spring term, and I decided to stay here because I live in Texas. During this week, I was able to cook some food for myself and a few friends, because Cowan Dining Commons was closed. The cooking was pretty fun, but the cleaning up was not. We had a movie marathon one day, and I also went up to Lexington for a day. In Lexington I went to a bookstore, saw a movie, and caught up with a friend.

There were fewer people on campus during winter break than I expected, but I was able to find enough friends to hang out with and have a good time. And as with any break, it was too short, but plenty relaxing.
