Last full week of school "This is the last full week of school," Scott tells me this morning. I'm initially amazed, but I really got to feeling strange two weekends ago, when I gave tours and helped out with Centre of Attention Day, because it was about this day a year ago that I decided to go to Centre.
This past year has gone by quickly overall, but the weeks can be interminable. The amount of work I've done, tests I've studied for, and papers I've written just seem so far away.
I've had so much fun and had great times with friends. I've made so many new friends; I started out knowing absolutely no one in the entire state of Kentucky, and now I know literally hundreds of people.
I will remember Clay and my R.A. Brad having Rubik's Cube races in the hall, and popping bubble wrap that people got in packages from home. I'll also remember the good times I've had just walking around and talking with good friends I made early on like Abby, Emily, and Scott as well as friends I made later on in the year like Josh and Chris.
Looking back I can definitely say that I've grown. I'm not sure I feel like I've grown incredibly, but being at college has taught me new things. I've learned how to commit my time to homework, people, and organizations without over-committing myself.
I think I've also learned that winning or being the best is neither achievable nor necessary. There are always ways to do what you want even if things do not turn out as originally planned...I guess that's flexibility.
Thanks to all of you for keeping track of me for the past year. I've tried to be as truthful as possible, even though my grandma may think "I over-exaggerate." I hope to see some of you here next year.
P.S. One more entry from home in June!
