I still have a lot of work

Going home and seeing family over Thanksgiving break was great, only second to the amazing turkey, mashed potatoes, rolls, stuffing, and green beans. Normally my family goes down to our lake house, but since I was in town for Wednesday and Thursday only (we practiced on Friday and went to a basketball tournament over the weekend), we just went to my grandparents' house. Sitting around with my family was unexpectedly revitalizing as we caught up on the ins and outs of each others' lives. After an amazing meal, my cousins, Dad, and I went outside to play flag football.

Friday I had lunch with a good friend who asked what I was thankful for most this year. After some thought, I realized that I was most thankful that God blessed me with such a supportive and loving family. Being away at Centre, and then returning home, revealed to me how influential my family has been in my development into the woman I was created to be. Spending time with my family reminded me that happiness is about the little things in life like laughing, enjoying good food with great company, and developing close relationships with people that encourage me to dare beyond the ordinary.

Now that I'm back on campus, only one week of classes, followed by four days of intense finals, remain in my first semester of college. I can't believe that school will be out for Christmas break in two weeks! I still have a lot of work, however, before a grand celebration on Thursday night, including a humanities paper, an oral presentation for Natural Science, a Calc III project, and four 3-hour finals. Hopefully, success will be the end result after many laborious hours of studying.

In an afterthought, I want to let you know how disappointed I am in myself that I haven't made it to the Danville Cinemas 8 to see the new Bond movie (as an excuse I will blame my lack of time on basketball and schoolwork). I'm not sure if I'm allowed to make endorsements, but I heard that Daniel Craig does a fantastic job as 007, even though he's blond :). If you get a chance go see it, but don't ruin the ending for me.
