So my name is Sarah Elisabeth Hargis. Yes, Elisabeth with an “s” because that’s the way it was spelt in the Bible. I’m 18 years old, I went to Henderson County High School and I’m now a FRESHMAN IN COLLEGE—woo hoo! It feels like I’ve waited my whole life to say that, and now I can.

By looking at my picture you can probably tell that I have a unique ethnic background. I’m a Honduran-American. My mom is from Honduras (in Central America) and my dad is from Henderson, Kentucky (my hometown). How did a tropical islander meet a small town country boy? Well my mother came to the states in her early twenties to take some college courses in Evansville, Indiana (10 minutes away from Henderson, Ky.), and that’s where they met. I have one sibling, my older brother Joseph. He’s seven years older than me and is at graduate school in California.

I’d have to say I’m an all-around kind of person. I’m pretty positive and enthusiastic all the time. I’m very sociable and personable. I always have fun, even when I’m studying and cramming. I love to laugh, especially to the point of tears.

I’m a pretty humorous person, so I’m always evoking laughter. I’m also a leader-oriented person. I like taking on the leadership role in things.

I stay pretty active. I love volleyball. I’m a big Audrey Hepburn fan. I looove to perform; whether it’s acting, singing, or even just speaking in front of an audience.

And most important of all, I’m a Christian. My faith is really the center my life revolves around. I had an awesome church family back home (Immanuel Baptist Church), and was pretty active in my youth group and the praise team there.

I hope you enjoy following my life here at Centre College. I’m going to be as honest and real as I can so you’ll have a more down-to-earth and realistic notion of what college life is like here. Happy reading!
