Gotten my plate stacked I love it! Ahhh, college is just as I hoped it would be and then some. Its crazy how I've spent, what feels like, my whole life thinking, wondering about, and anticipating college, and now it's here, being lived and breathed by me. I've always kinda had this notion that college was going to be this huge monumental change, and it was going to be super hard and I'd have to study all the time...etc. But college is fun! Freshman year is still like high school, in the sense that you still call up your friends and get together to go see a game, shop, eat, or just hang out. What makes it better than high school is definitely the time period of the day. I don't see how I could ever go back to an 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. school day, full of classes. I have three classes on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, two on Tuesdays, and one on Thursdays. And most of my classes aren't back to back. I go to class, then either go back to my dorm, library, or cafeteria for an hour or so, then go to my next class. It's awesome, because you can use that time to go back to sleep for awhile, get some food, or finish the homework you didn't get done the night before. I've definitely gotten my plate stacked here at Centre too. I'm involved in a lot of activities, which is no surprise. I'm in the Bonner Program, which means I have to complete 8 to 10 hours of service every week. Jennie Rogers Elementary School's After School Program is my main work site. Every day (except weekends) from 3 to 5:30 p.m., I and a few others here, help with that. It's a bit strenuous at times, having to keep up with all the kids, but it's a lot fun getting to be with them--they keep us young, haha. I'm also in the student production "Burial at Thebes," otherwise known as the play "Antigone." A guy named Dan and I are the chorus. I have play practice every night after I get off work from Jennie Rogers. I'm also one of the freshman representatives for student government. Wednesday nights I go to CCF—Centre Christian Fellowship which is just like a youth group at the Warehouse student center. And I'm an usher for the Norton Fine Arts Center here. With all that, plus school work, I'm constantly busy...but you know what, I'd have it no other way.
