My classes are great

Well about six weeks of college have come and gone and I must say that I'm having a great time. I now see why people always say, “My college years were the best years of my life.”

I live on the second floor of Nevin, or as we like to call it, Deuce Nev.  I think the housing committee had a good time placing all of us on the same floor because we're all pretty outgoing (by that I mean wild) athletes, plus a few other students. As a result, there always seems to be something happening on my floor, which provides constant entertainment.

I love the atmosphere of Centre; it's very studious during the week, and quite the opposite on the weekends. There's always something to do and people to meet. The party scene has been exciting here. The fraternities are very creative about their parties and people (including myself) have a great time. I've met some great friends over the past couple of weeks, many of whom I can see being friends long after college is over.

My classes are great and my professors are awesome (even my 8 a.m. ones). The work load isn't too bad either, just a good bit of reading. I'm really getting into the discussions that take place in almost all of my classes as well. They're often very compelling.

Football has been great too! My coaches are very enthusiastic and that's very inspiring, especially after a long day of classes. Something I've noticed that I think is awesome is all of the traditions that we have in the football program. Some I can speak of and others I can't, but all are great, especially “Cookies and Milk.” This is a tradition that takes place on Friday nights before a game, in which the team is brought together and motivated over some cookies and milk.

This upcoming week is full of midterms, so I better get back to studying.
