A great atmosphere

As a student at Centre, I must say that this college isn't ALL about academics as many people may suggest. I usually spend the majority of my free time working on music and studying the Bible because I'm working on my new CD. A group of guys on my floor and I have been studying the Bible regularly for the past few weeks and it's really been a great experience. We just sit and discuss scripture and talk about how great the Lord has been in our lives. I feel like we've all grown up so much since we've been studying together. Other than that, we usually play Wii or listen to music. I generally go home on the weekends, so I don't really know a lot about what goes on during the weekends, but I hear people have a pretty good time.

I found a few guys that make rap and reggaeton music, and we get together and collaborate on instrumentals all the time. My friend Juan actually came home with me over Thanksgiving break and we made a beat together. I also hung out with Jasmon Dixon, a new friend I've made at Centre over Thanksgiving, and we listened to some of my music and had a pretty good time. I see music and studying my Bible as my source for staying out of trouble as well as a way to just relax my mind a little bit.

Being that I am a rapper, I oftentimes get to do performances of my songs and that's a really great experience. I'm working on getting a concert here so I can try to spread my music to other people. I promote my music on Facebook a lot, and it's very helpful because I can network easily with all of the people that I don't see regularly. I've really enjoyed the majority of the time I've been on campus, but I still like going home to my family. That being said, I couldn't leave my Centre friends Matt, Drew, Jimmie, and Jordan because they're like brothers to me now.

All-in-all Centre has a great atmosphere, and if it wasn't for my friends I don't think I would survive the hard work and spiritual struggles I go through each day. They keep me from going crazy when things aren't the best. It works the same way with me helping them too. I like it here, and college can always be fun if you find the right people and the right things to do.
